Privacy Policy

TL;DR: Budee does NOT send your data to our servers. Your API keys and conversations stay in your browser. Budee talks directly to your chosen AI provider (Anthropic or OpenAI).
1. What We Collect
Budee does not collect personal data. The extension runs entirely in your browser. All data is stored locally:
- API Keys — stored in browser's local storage (chrome.storage / browser.storage). Never sent to budee.io or revme.io servers.
- Conversations — stored in browser's IndexedDB. Never leave your device.
- Settings — model, provider, system prompt — stored in browser's local storage.
- File uploads — stored in browser's IndexedDB or OPFS (Origin Private File System). Never uploaded to any server.
2. What We Do NOT Collect
- We do NOT collect browsing history
- We do NOT collect personal information
- We do NOT track which websites you visit
- We do NOT have access to your conversations
- We do NOT sell or share any user data
3. Third-Party Services
Budee communicates with these third-party services from your browser:
AI Providers (user-configured)
- Anthropic API (api.anthropic.com) — If you use Claude models. Your prompts and conversation content are sent directly to Anthropic. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI API (api.openai.com) — If you use GPT models. Your prompts and conversation content are sent directly to OpenAI. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
You choose which provider to use. You can switch or stop using either at any time.
Ad Service
- revme.io — Budee fetches text ad content from revme.io to display in the sidepanel. This request contains only the ad API key (a public identifier). No personal data is sent. Ad impressions and clicks are tracked anonymously via ad ID only.
4. Browser Permissions
Budee requires these browser permissions to function:

Page content accessed by Budee tools is processed in-memory and is never stored on any server.
5. Advertising
Budee displays text ads from revme.io in the extension's sidepanel. These ads:
- Are clearly labeled with an "Ad" badge
- Are displayed only within Budee's own UI — never injected into websites
- Do not track your browsing behavior
- Ad impressions and clicks are tracked by ad ID only — no personal identifiers
6. Data Retention
All data is stored locally in your browser. You can delete it at any time by:
- Clearing browser data for the extension
- Uninstalling the extension
We have no access to your data and cannot delete it for you.
7. Children's Privacy
Budee is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
